Description For Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer

Biffa Waste Services is seeking an Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team. This role involves contributing to internal and external preventative, reactive, and corrective maintenance work on plant equipment. The goal is to improve machine reliability, availability, and capacity to manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing reactive and proactive maintenance services on operational equipment and facilities infrastructure
  • Liaising with external contractors for maintenance and scheduling
  • Following and completing planned maintenance via a Computer Maintenance Management System
  • Participating in projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assisting in the administration of the CMMS (Frontline)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Multi-skilled maintenance engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) qualifications
  • IOSH - Managing Safely certification
  • Previous maintenance experience in a heavy industrial or waste environment
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement (CI) methodologies
  • Knowledge of various mechanical drive arrangements

The position offers a competitive salary of up to £50,993.64 per annum, with a working pattern of 6am – 6pm and 6pm – 6am (Four on, four off rotation). Responsibilities For Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer

  • Providing both a reactive and pro-active, highly skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure
  • Liaise with external contractors for reactive maintenance and to Schedule planned service maintenance
  • Following and completing (signing off) planned maintenance (PMs, RMs & CMs) via a Computer Maintenance Management System
  • Actively participate in Projects, continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals
  • Assist in the administration of the CMMS (Frontline) to ensure its accuracy at all times

Requirements For Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer

  • Multi skilled maintenance engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) qualifications
  • IOSH - Managing Safely certification
  • Previous maintenance experience in a heavy industrial or waste environment
  • Familiar and worked with continuous improvement (CI) – Lean, Kan Ban, OEE, TOC and other activities
  • Knowledge of various mechanical drive arrangements, including simplex, duplex, chain, belt, gearboxes, and transmissions
