Shift Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Biffa Waste Services is seeking a Shift Electrical Maintenance Engineer for their operational site in Edmonton, London. This role is part of Biffa's mission to change the way people think about waste, whether by turning it into sustainable power, finding new ways to recycle it, or keeping it off the streets.

The position involves working 4 days on, 4 days off, with 2 day shifts and 2 night shifts, each lasting 12 hours. The annual salary is £52,200, with an additional London weighting allowance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out all maintenance activities on the plant, both preventative and reactive
• Responding efficiently to operational engineering needs to reduce downtime
• Supporting the Engineering Supervisor in developing team members' skills
• Maintaining workplace safety and promoting effective engineering practices
• Supervising contractors when necessary
• Problem-solving and conducting Root Cause Analysis to prevent future failures
• Proactively identifying potential faults and improvement opportunities

Requirements for the role include:

• Level 3 Qualification in Electrical Engineering
• Qualification in 16th, 17th, or 18th Edition Writing Regulations (BS7671)
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office packages, email)
• Strong knowledge of Electrical Maintenance
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize
• Willingness to learn new skills
• Strong personal commitment to safety
• Problem-solving and root cause identification skills
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
