Backend Engineer

Bitstamp, the original Cryptocurrency Exchange, is seeking a passionate Backend Engineer to join their Product Engineering – Frontend & Backoffice division. Founded in 2011, Bitstamp has grown to serve over 4 million clients globally, offering intuitive web and mobile apps along with industry-leading APIs. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering foundation, proficiency in Python, and excellent communication skills. They will develop services for new features, design RESTful APIs and microservices, and work closely with the product development team. The role involves using Python primarily, with additional technologies like Golang, Django, and MySQL. Key responsibilities:

• Develop services for new features and integrations
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices
• Lead independent tasks and collaborate on solution design
• Work with product development team on technical specifications
• Implement solutions primarily using Python
• Utilize additional technologies like Golang, Django, and MySQL

Requirements:

• Solid engineering foundation and growth mindset
• Proficiency in Python (Golang and Django knowledge is a plus)
• Strong understanding of web application architecture
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with highly scalable and high-performance web services
• Familiarity with Scrum/Agile methodologies
• Proficiency in English
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team
