Description For Infrastructure Security Engineer

Bitstamp, the original Cryptocurrency Exchange, is seeking an Infrastructure Security Engineer to join their Security Operations Team. Founded in 2011, Bitstamp has grown to serve over 4 million clients globally, focusing on security, transparency, and regulation in the crypto industry.

As an Infrastructure Security Engineer, you will:

  • Focus on the security of Bitstamp's cloud infrastructure
  • Participate in security reviews and threat modeling
  • Perform security assessments for existing solutions
  • Drive infrastructure-based security initiatives
  • Work closely with various Security and Technology teams on mission-critical projects
  • Scale secure infrastructure and evangelize sound infrastructure security practices

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving security initiatives to improve the security posture of existing and future infrastructure projects
  • Supporting and consulting with Infrastructure and Engineering teams on infrastructure security
  • Proactively participating in the betterment of Security Operations infrastructure and processes

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with cloud providers in system engineering, DevOps, or security engineering
  • Experience with cloud providers' security services (e.g., AWS Inspector, AWS GuardDuty)
  • Strong understanding of network and web-related protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS)
  • Good understanding of common security services, controls, and flaws
  • Experience with Linux, Bash, Python, and Git
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and/or infrastructure orchestration tools
  • Ability to make sound security decisions based on incomplete data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
