Senior Engineer - Platform Engineering

Bitstamp, the original Cryptocurrency Exchange, is seeking a Senior Engineer to join their Platform Team. Founded in 2011, Bitstamp has grown to serve over 4 million clients globally, focusing on security, transparency, and regulation in the crypto industry.

As a Senior Engineer, you'll be part of a passionate team building and operating core services and frameworks for application development. Your role will involve expanding product offerings by refactoring critical systems and enhancing scaling capabilities. The team is data-driven and goal-oriented, aiming to evolve the platform for an ultimate trading experience and optimal developer experience.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase various skills while learning about fintech, trading, distributed architecture, and high-performance solutions. The tech stack includes Python, Docker, Golang, MySQL, AWS (Amazon Web Services), and Kafka.

Key responsibilities:

• Researching architectural and code problems, designing new solutions, and planning implementation
• Building new solutions using Golang and Python, and operating them in production
• Improving platform stability and robustness through metrics analysis and appropriate action
• Communicating effectively with team members and technical stakeholders
• Reviewing code and contributing to solution designs

Required qualifications:

• Strong engineering background and development experience
• Expert knowledge in either Golang or Python, with motivation to learn both
• Experience or knowledge in designing scalable distributed web applications
• Experience with event-driven architecture
• Solid knowledge of backend development, including databases
