Platform Engineer - Azure

BJSS is seeking a Platform Engineer with deep understanding of the Azure ecosystem to join their delivery teams. As an Azure expert, you'll work in small product teams alongside developers, architects, designers, analysts, and product owners to deliver automation, tooling, and cloud infrastructure for exciting digital programmes across various industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain delivery infrastructure, systems, and processes
• Lead the adoption of modern platforms and ways of working
• Work on complex engagements, typically in multi-disciplinary teams on client sites
• Deliver automation, tooling, and cloud infrastructure

Required Skills and Experience:

• Commercial experience in designing, deploying, and managing Azure cloud environments
• Experience with containers and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS)
• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, ARM Templates, Helm, Pulumi)
• Experience with pipeline build/deploy tools (Azure DevOps, TFS, Jenkins)
• In-depth automation and scripting skills (PowerShell, AZ CLI, Python, Bash, Ruby, Groovy)
• Knowledge of configuration management technologies (DSC, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack, Ansible)
• Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, Azure App Insights, New Relic, Datadog)
• Understanding of cloud platform design patterns and best practices
• Knowledge of common database and caching technologies
• Some knowledge of programming languages used in modern web application development
• Experience with iterative/agile development methodologies
