Design Engineer

BKF Engineers is seeking a Design Engineer to join their Oakland office. The ideal candidate will apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using their education, experience, and judgment. You will assist Project Engineers and Project Managers in preparing defined elements of project designs, collaborating with and supporting a team of engineers, drafters, technicians, and others.

Key responsibilities include:

• Project Design for Site Development
• Grading and Drainage Plans
• Utility Systems for Water and Sewer
• Report Preparation and Master Planning Studies
• Preparation of specifications and cost estimates
• Working on Residential, Commercial, Mixed-use, Roadway, Highway, and Public Works projects

The ideal candidate should have 0-3 years of experience in site development and design of residential and/or commercial subdivisions, utility systems, roadways, and public works. A B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET Accredited Curriculum is required, and EIT/FE certification is preferred. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus, and strong communication skills are essential.
