Description For Project Engineer

BKF Engineers is seeking an ambitious Project Engineer with experience in land development and civil engineering for their Sacramento team. The role involves independently managing all phases of projects, from small to large-scale, while collaborating with senior engineers and project managers. Key responsibilities include designing site development projects, developing utility systems, preparing reports and master planning studies, creating specifications and cost estimates, ensuring compliance with standards, and overseeing a team of engineers, drafters, and technicians.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in site development, design of residential and/or commercial subdivisions, utility systems, and roadways. A B.S in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET Accredited Curriculum is required, and a Professional Engineering license in the State of California is preferred. Mastery of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is essential.

Responsibilities For Project Engineer

  • Design site development projects, including grading and drainage plans
  • Develop utility systems for water and sewer
  • Prepare reports and master planning studies
  • Create specifications and cost estimates
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, city, and county standards
  • Conduct conceptual studies and report preparation
  • Prepare specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates
  • Oversee and coordinate a team of engineers, drafters, and technicians

Requirements For Project Engineer

  • 4+ years of experience in site development, design of residential and/or commercial subdivisions, utility systems, and roadways
  • B.S in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET Accredited Curriculum
  • Professional Engineering license in the State of California (preferred)
