Description For Utility Project Engineer

BKF Engineers is seeking an experienced Utility Project Engineer to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply utility knowledge to a range of large and impactful projects across the Bay Area, including roadways, highways, rail, pedestrian, bike, transit, and more. The ideal candidate will take ownership of all utility-related aspects, managing design through completion and building relationships with external vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for utility coordination and design
  • Manage all utility aspects from design through completion
  • Work closely with and build relationships with external vendors
  • Review deliverables to ensure compliance with project and contract requirements
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, including meeting minutes, schedules, and correspondence
  • Provide oversight during construction and communicate with field crews
  • Support project pursuits, including RFPs, RFQs, and project interviews

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET Accredited Curriculum
  • 5-10 years of experience in Utility Design and Coordination
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015-2018
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • PE license in California highly preferred, EIT minimum

Responsibilities For Utility Project Engineer

Requirements For Utility Project Engineer

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience communicating with construction field crews
  • Bid and Construction Support Experience
  • Professional and strong communication skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated mindset
  • Ability to build relationships and drive coordination
  • Knowledge of survey and construction staking for utility relocations
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015-2018 Design Experience
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • PE license in California highly preferred, EIT minimum
