Description For Analog Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

Broadcom, a global leader in semiconductor and infrastructure software solutions, is seeking an experienced Analog Mixed-Signal Design Engineer for their San Jose location. This role focuses on developing cutting-edge analog and clocking blocks for high-speed wireline and SerDes connectivity applications. The position requires extensive expertise in advanced node high-speed analog and mixed signal development, with a particular emphasis on clock generation and distribution.

The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of experience and advanced education in Electrical or Computer Engineering. They will be responsible for designing low jitter, low power PLL, VCO, and clocking circuitry in advanced CMOS nodes, while maintaining deep understanding of signal integrity and power integrity for high-speed designs. The role offers exposure to state-of-the-art technology nodes (5nm and 3nm FinFET) and the opportunity to work with advanced clock distribution techniques.

Broadcom offers a competitive compensation package including a base salary range of $141,000 - $225,000, plus discretionary annual bonus and equity opportunities.   • Develop analog and clocking blocks for high-speed wireline and SerDes connectivity applications
  • Work effectively across internal and end customers teams
  • Design and implement clock generation and distribution systems

Requirements For Analog Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in advanced node high speed analog and mixed signal development
  • Experience in designing low jitter, low power PLL, VCO and clocking circuitry in advanced CMOS nodes
  • Deep understanding of advanced clock distribution techniques
  • Proficiency in electromagnetic tools like EMX or similar
  • Design and tape out experience in advanced nodes (5nm and 3nm FinFET)
  • Deep understanding of signal integrity and power integrity
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent knowledge/experience with TSMC 7nm-5nm
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel when required
