Distinguished Engineer

We're seeking a Distinguished Engineer (Sr. Director level individual contributor) for our VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) division. VCF is a hybrid cloud infrastructure platform that integrates compute, storage, networking, security, and cloud management services.

The role involves leading and accelerating our journey towards a unified Operations and Management platform for VCF. You'll work with top technology leaders and an amazing team of architects and engineers to infuse machine learning, high-scale architecture, and process automation into our core offerings.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading architecture to unify products and create a next-generation VCF Operations and Management platform
• Being a hands-on engineer to ensure future-proof, highly usable software
• Driving awareness of new techniques for improving customer experience
• Shaping technical roadmaps and driving bold product directions
• Mentoring and developing engineers
• Recruiting and maintaining excellent engineering talent

Requirements:

• 15+ years of engineering experience in complex, distributed, enterprise-class software
• Experience in systems management, distributed systems, or infrastructure software
• Architecture design and development experience on SaaS software
• Domain expertise in server, storage, network, security, or cloud services
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
