Broadcom's Wireless Semiconductor Division (WSD) is seeking a Dry Etch Equipment Engineer for their state-of-the-art 8" wafer fabrication facility in Northern Colorado. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic development opportunities. The position involves working with Technology Development and Process Engineering teams, tackling challenges with new materials, applications, and device architectures. The engineer will be responsible for establishing robust equipment and processes through rigorous characterization and statistical validation before implementing them in high-volume manufacturing. Responsibilities For Dry Etch Equipment Engineer

  • Strong ownership of tactical execution and strategic improvement, including hardware and software optimization
  • Provide technical leadership in evaluating, troubleshooting, improving and maintaining equipment
  • Existing equipment upgrades and tool conversions with qualification support
  • Develop and implement preventative, predictive and high precision maintenance procedures
  • Work with team members to meet organizational goals
  • Collaborate with Process Engineering and R&D
  • Implement robust monitoring methodologies for equipment performance

Requirements For Dry Etch Equipment Engineer

  • BS in EE, ME, ChemE, or Materials Science and 5+ years of related experience
  • Experience with Dry Etch equipment is highly preferred
  • Detail oriented with strong fundamentals in core equipment engineering functions
  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Practical experience applying structured problem-solving methods
  • Experience with Fault Detection & Classification (FDC) systems
  • Working knowledge of SPC, DOE and statistical hypothesis testing
  • Mature data analysis skills using JMP, Minitab, Spotfire and Excel/Access
  • Proficient in use of hand tools
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • U.S. Work Authorization
