The role focuses on developing and maintaining MOCVD growth and characterization methods for III-V materials and devices. The position offers an opportunity to work in a high-volume, 24/7 manufacturing facility producing products for fiber optic communication expansion. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Indium Phosphide based growth processes, characterization, and device physics. Responsibilities For Epitaxy Engineer
- Process ownership – develop, maintain, optimize and document existing MOCVD processes for Indium Phosphide material growths
- Provide scientific expertise in all MOCVD materials growth techniques and characterization measurements
- Improve growth processes and analysis through automation via scripting
- Assist with device correlation to MOCVD growth material defects to drive product improvement
- Plan projects including design of experiments
- Generate internal technical reports, document existing and new measurement procedures
- Communicate and collaborate with team, escalate issues as necessary
Requirements For Epitaxy Engineer
- PhD and +7 years or MS with +10 years of related experience in Physics, Materials Science, or Electrical Engineering
- Strong applied, hands-on approach to semiconductor growth tools and processes
- Solid knowledge of materials and characterization techniques
- Knowledge of semiconductor materials and optical devices
- Exceptional communication skills
- Works well in team environment
- Critical thinking and structured problem solving techniques
