Broadcom, a global leader in semiconductor and infrastructure software solutions, is seeking a Senior Field Applications Engineer to join their Sales team. This role focuses on supporting major cloud service providers and OEM customers in designing solutions using Broadcom's PCIe-based products. The position offers a competitive salary range of $125,000 - $200,000 and comprehensive benefits including medical coverage and equity opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience working with cloud service providers and server OEM customers, bringing strong expertise in PCIe protocols and silicon debugging. You'll work directly with customers to understand requirements, propose solutions, and provide training on necessary tools and design guidelines. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, requiring excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
As a Field Applications Engineer, you'll be instrumental in helping customers integrate Broadcom's PCIe switch and retimer products into various platforms, including AI/ML systems and storage servers. You'll conduct architecture reviews, provide design-in support, and help debug critical issues. Responsibilities For Field Applications Engineer
- Work with customers and System Applications Engineers to analyze, debug, & root cause issues with PCIe switch and retimer products
- Work with OEM and Cloud customers to integrate PCIe switch and retimer products
- Guide customers through design process including architecture reviews and schematic reviews
- Establish relationships with customers and internal teams
- Train customers on tools, software, and applications
- Provide on-site customer support
- Occasional travel required
Requirements For Field Applications Engineer
- Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 8 years' experience working with Cloud service providers and server OEM customers
- Hands-on knowledge of high-speed protocols like PCIe
- Silicon bring-up and debug experience in customer systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
