Description For HW NPI Operations Manager

Broadcom's Core Switching Group (CSG) is seeking a Hardware NPI Operations Manager to spearhead their PCB and Assembly manufacturing operations. This crucial role involves leading system assembly and test, lab management, and supply chain management. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure reference systems meet the highest quality standards and are delivered on time to both internal and external customers.

The ideal candidate will bring 12+ years of experience in the field, with at least 5 years dedicated to managing test engineers and technicians. They should possess a strong technical background in hardware system operations and demonstrate proven success in managing large-scale testing projects. The role demands excellent communication and leadership skills, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include overseeing system operations from board bring-up to final testing, managing lab infrastructure and CapEx, and driving continuous improvement in testing processes through automation. The manager will be responsible for lab space allocation, test equipment ownership, and inventory control of systems and components.

Responsibilities For HW NPI Operations Manager

  • Own system operations: board bring-up, mechanical system assembly and final system test
  • Own comprehensive system test strategy for all products
  • Define test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on product requirements
  • Manage system delivery metrics for new programs and returned systems
  • Manage board rework, BGA rework and SMT flow recommendations
  • Drive continuous improvement in testing processes with automation
  • Lab space allocation, lab infrastructure management, CapEx and Assets management
  • Manage a team of system test engineers and technicians
  • Drive test execution metrics to high quality standards

Requirements For HW NPI Operations Manager

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 12+ years of related experience
  • 5+ years of experience in system testing of large-scale testing projects
  • 5+ years in managing test engineers and technicians
  • Strong knowledge of system and Si testing, test sockets, lab test instruments
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of industry standards
  • Scripting and automation skills
