Broadcom's Mainframe Software Division (MSD) is seeking an exceptional software engineering manager passionate about building mission-critical and complex software products. The role involves managing an engineering team and carrying multiple responsibilities:

1. Product leader: Assist the Product Owner in evangelizing the product and its future direction.
2. Engineering leader: Lead the development team in DevSecOps practices and product code quality.
3. Development coach: Mentor team members to strengthen their development skills.
4. Performance manager: Radiate team performance and improvement data.

Mainframe systems are crucial to the digital economy, with 80% of the world's structured corporate data residing or originating on mainframes, and 55% of all enterprise applications using mainframes to complete transactions. Broadcom's industry-leading products are critical to many Fortune 1000 companies.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead a team of engineers in product development, technical design, and successful delivery for Mainframe Security and Compliance products.
• Manage and coach the team through effective 1-on-1s, career guidance, mentorship, and continuous feedback.
• Ensure high technical standards by driving engineering excellence and culture (CI/CD, automation).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan/define the product roadmap and manage dependencies.
• Communicate decisions and issues effectively both upwards and downwards.

Required qualifications:

• Proven technical leadership experience with a track record of delivering complex solutions in fast-paced environments.
• Experience in code reviews, refactoring, and gathering code quality metrics.
• Strong communication, relationship, collaborative, and organizational skills.
• Experience with Agile development processes, test-driven development, and automation.
• 12+ years of relevant industry experience, 3+ years in a management role.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
