Principal - Security Engineer 5

VMware by Broadcom is seeking a Principal Security Engineer to join their vSECR team within the VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation) Division. This role focuses on defending mission-critical systems used by various organizations against nation-state actors. The position involves finding and fixing security vulnerabilities in VMware products and services, assessing threats, analyzing externally reported vulnerabilities, and developing PoC exploits.

The ideal candidate will work alongside highly motivated security engineers, getting first-hand experience with modern threats and defense techniques. The role requires expertise in performing feature security reviews, baseline security tests, fuzzing, code review, and security tool development/integration. Within the first year, you'll be expected to become independent in security assessments and drive mitigations/remediations with product development teams.

The position offers competitive compensation including a base salary range of $127,000 - $225,000, plus discretionary annual bonus and equity opportunities.
