Responsibilities For R&D Software Engineer - Source Code Management (SCM) Tools Engineer
- Improve VCF developers engagement with SCM and Build infrastructure
- Analyze business problems and lead engineering efforts
- Implement scripts, tools and services to address productivity and operational risks
- Design, review, and code solutions with other Sr. Engineering leaders
- Educate colleagues on SCM features, tools, technologies, and practices
- Build and operate tools for SCM migration from Perforce to GitHub
- Participate in on-call rotation
- Create documentation and training materials
Requirements For R&D Software Engineer - Source Code Management (SCM) Tools Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 12+ years of experience or Masters degree with 10+ years of experience
- Experience with SCM systems (Perforce, GitHub)
- Knowledge of branching, merging, and code-review processes
- Understanding of SCM governance best-practices
- Ability to create and improve observability of tools and services
- Strong documentation skills
