Description For Senior Technical Support Engineer (vSphere)

As a Senior Technical Support Engineer (vSphere) at Broadcom, you will be responsible for resolving complex customer technical issues and supporting the team in the VCF Division. This role requires a passion for learning new technology, solving complex problems, and working collaboratively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues related to VMware products, especially vSphere ESXi and vCenter Server
  • Handle ESXi and vCenter deployments and upgrades
  • Expertly troubleshoot vSphere & vCenter Server service down scenarios and performance issues
  • Manage VMFS/NFS architecture and troubleshooting
  • Handle issues related to core vSphere features such as HA, DRS, and vMotion
  • Review and investigate log files to identify root causes and resolutions
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Field Teams, and technical experts to resolve issues
  • Create and update knowledge articles for global circulation
  • Provide formal root cause analysis on critical customer situations
  • Facilitate proactive service and relationship development through regular customer calls
  • Represent VMware in multi-vendor troubleshooting scenarios

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Japanese
  • Advanced knowledge of vSphere ESXi and vCenter Server
  • Experience with Linux and database administration (e.g., Postgres, MS SQL)
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell
  • Strong communication skills and customer engagement experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team
  • Flexibility to work in any shift during weekdays and weekends
