Responsibilities For SerDes Test Engineer
- Design and implement test methods for high-speed serial interfaces
- Devise statistically sound methodologies for analog tests
- Measure electrical characteristics for newly designed integrated circuits
- Work with chip designers to improve testability
- Research and evaluate test equipment and components
- Design automated bench level device testing procedures
- Generate comprehensive test reports and analysis
- Participate in chip evaluation fixtures design and development
Requirements For SerDes Test Engineer
- Bachelors and 12+ years of experience, or Masters with 10+ years, or PhD with 7+ years
- Understanding of high-speed custom & standards-compliant serializer/deserializer products
- Familiarity with test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
- Experience with communication standards (Ethernet, PCI-Express, USB3, etc.)
- Programming experience in C, C++, C#, Matlab, perl, or python
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with VLSI IC I/O & control, and built-in self test (BIST)
