Broadcom is seeking a Staff Engineer to join their VCF R&D division, specifically working on the VCF Ops Management organization. The role focuses on developing next-generation Observability infrastructure for VCF under the "Common Horizontal Functions" umbrella. This position, based in Palo Alto, CA, offers an opportunity to work on VMware's flagship product.
The ideal candidate will be a key member of the development team, focusing on building, testing, and supporting key management solutions for the VCF product. With a required 10+ years of software development experience, the role demands expertise in Java and related frameworks, along with strong knowledge of distributed systems fundamentals.

Responsibilities For Staff Engineer
- Work collaboratively within an Agile team to translate business requirements into high quality, well-tested code
- Participate in design and code reviews with other engineers
- Solve complex problems and design them and code with high quality
- Commit to delivering stories and tasks within the sprint
- Develop automated test cases to validate integrated or end-to-end functionality
- Actively communicate and collaborate within the team and across functional boundaries
- Drive opportunities to increase efficiency, security, and product quality through best practices
- Interact with support teams to handle customer issues
Requirements For Staff Engineer
- Bachelor's degree or global equivalent in a software related field
- 10+ years of experience in software development
- Extensive experience with Java and related frameworks
- Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, software design patterns and distributed systems fundamentals
- Experience in Agile software development
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to learn, apply, and integrate with various technologies
- Must have legal authorization to work in the US
