Description For Staff Mainframe Developer

Broadcom's Mainframe Software Division (MSD) is seeking an exceptional software engineer passionate about building high-quality applications using agile practices. This Staff Mainframe Developer role is critical in creating, testing, and maintaining z/OS based mainframe products. The position involves new feature development, complex code modification, and high-level analysis related to software design. As a technical lead within a small team, you'll mentor junior developers and collaborate with stakeholders like Product Owners and Solution Architects.

  • Collaborate in an Agile Team to analyze requirements and write high-quality, testable code
  • Adopt a test-first approach to software development
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Create automated unit, system, and acceptance tests
  • Contribute to team retrospectives and resolve impediments
  • Mentor and coach team members to improve overall skill levels

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in mainframe software development or related field
  • Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Experience with IBM z/OS internals and IBM HLASM programming language or embedded systems with low-level C/C++ programming
