Systems Applications Engineer

Broadcom is seeking a talented and passionate engineer to join R&D Systems Applications Engineering (SAE) team for a global organization that helps customers design, integrate, and maintain enterprise level products. SAE works directly with top tier Cloud Customers, OEMs, ODMs, Field Application Engineers (FAE), and internal design engineers to launch new customer products and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze, debug, & root cause issues found within Broadcom's PCIe switch products
• Provide guidance to OEM and Cloud customers on properly integrating Broadcom's PCIe switch products
• Develop product documentation for PCIe switch implementation
• Develop relations and collaborate with industry partners
• Develop software tools and methods to improve debug efficiency and customer satisfaction
• Train field engineers and support staff
• Occasional travel, some of which may be international

Requirements:

• Experience with firmware, software, hardware and PCIe protocol level debug
• Experience developing and debugging C code
• Prior experience in embedded SW debug or development using PCIe technology
• Skilled in organizing information
• Self-motivated and a strong self-driven learner
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering or related field plus 12 years of relevant experience (or Masters Degree in related field plus 10 years of relevant experience)

Desirable skills:

• Experience with SAS/SATA protocols, RAID, ARM or PPC embedded processors, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes
