Description For Technical Support Engineer

Broadcom is seeking a Technical Support Engineer for their VMware Cloud Foundation division. The role involves resolving customer technical issues, supporting the team, and the support operation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting and resolving customer issues
  • Engaging with account teams and managers
  • Working with engineering teams to resolve escalated issues
  • Developing expertise in VMware virtualization technologies
  • Creating and updating knowledge articles
  • Participating in multi-vendor troubleshooting
  • Continuously learning and developing skills

The ideal candidate should have:

  • 3+ years of tech industry experience
  • Experience with VMware products and cloud/virtualization technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Science (preferred) or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills and customer engagement experience
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of vSphere ESXi and vCenter Server
  • Expertise in troubleshooting service down scenarios and performance issues
  • Knowledge of VMFS/NFS architecture
  • Experience with database administration (e.g., Postgres & MS SQL)

The team structure includes engineers at different levels (L1 to L5) in various geographic locations, supporting the VMware Cloud Foundation suite of products. The position is based in Cork, Ireland, and requires working in-office with shifts either Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday.
