Description For Technical Support Engineer

Broadcom's VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Division is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join their team in Bangalore. This role focuses on supporting VMware's flagship product vSphere and related technologies including vSAN, NSX, and Aria. As a Level 3 Support Engineer, you'll be part of a global team helping enterprise customers troubleshoot and optimize their cloud infrastructure.

The position offers substantial skills development and learning opportunities in VMware virtualization technologies. You'll work with strategic customers, collaborate with engineering teams, and contribute to knowledge base development. The role requires night shift availability and is based in the Bangalore office.

Responsibilities For Technical Support Engineer

  • Resolve customer technical issues and support team operations
  • Troubleshoot vSphere & vCenter Server service issues
  • Handle ESXi and vCenter deployments and upgrades
  • Document customer interactions and resolution steps
  • Partner with Engineering and Field Teams
  • Create and update knowledge articles
  • Provide root cause analysis on critical situations
  • Conduct regular customer cadence calls
  • Represent VMware in multi-vendor troubleshooting
  • Assist with software updates and migrations

Requirements For Technical Support Engineer

Linux
Python
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 8+ years of industry experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Advanced knowledge of vSphere ESXi and vCenter Server
  • Expert in VMFS/NFS architecture and troubleshooting
  • Experience with database administration (Postgres & MS SQL)
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python/PowerShell)
  • Night shift work required (5pm-7am IST, including weekends)
