Description For Technical Support Engineer

Join VeloCloud by Broadcom as a Technical Support Engineer, where you'll leverage your networking expertise to support elite customers with SD-WAN solutions. This role combines deep technical knowledge with customer service excellence, focusing on troubleshooting complex networking challenges. You'll be part of a globally distributed team of highly competent engineers, working from a Broadcom corporate office.

The position requires strong problem-solving abilities and in-depth understanding of networking technologies. You'll handle technical escalations, create knowledge base content, and work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve customer issues. The role involves analyzing network configurations, conducting log analysis, and implementing best practices for SD-WAN solutions.

Key technical areas include Linux systems, TCP/IP stack, routing protocols (BGP & OSPF), and network performance optimization. You'll use tools like packet capture analysis, API integration, and MySQL databases. The role offers opportunities to work with cutting-edge SD-WAN technology while contributing to a world-class support organization.

Working hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend or overnight hours and on-call responsibilities. Responsibilities For Technical Support Engineer

  • Resolve customer technical issues and support team operations
  • Work with support engineers, sales engineers, and customers
  • Conduct log analysis and reproduction work
  • Create knowledge articles for global circulation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex queries
  • Debug customer environments and resolve network performance issues
  • Reproduce customer reported issues in lab environment
  • Work with development and QA teams for issue verification and fixes

Requirements For Technical Support Engineer

Linux
MySQL
  • Prior experience working in Support/Technical Assistance Center (TAC) team (5+ years desired)
  • Linux troubleshooting skills including log reading and performance testing
  • Experience with TCP/IP stack, QoS, WAN optimization devices
  • Expertise in network topologies and configurations
  • Expertise in dynamic routing protocols (BGP & OSPF)
  • Ability to analyze network traffic and packet captures
  • Experience with JSON, API, and MySQL
  • CCNP or equivalent certification preferred
  • VeloCloud SDWAN certifications advantageous
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
