Description For Technical Support Engineer

Broadcom, a leading provider of Data Center Storage Area Networking solutions, is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join their Brocade Global Support organization. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, focusing on supporting Brocade Premier Customers both remotely and on-site. The position requires strong fault isolation and root cause analysis skills to diagnose complex technical issues. As a Brocade On-Site Engineer (OSE), you'll be instrumental in maintaining highly available operational performance through design, planning, and implementation of complex SAN infrastructures. Responsibilities For Technical Support Engineer

  • Provide expertise in design, planning and implementation of complex SAN infrastructures
  • Participate in Brocade hardware refresh planning
  • Assist in assessing existing environment and mapping to new design
  • Support operation and management of Customer's Brocade infrastructure
  • Lead educational workshops
  • Create and review SAN Health reports
  • Perform life cycle management reviews
  • Support implementation of Brocade technology solutions
  • Configuration of FICON directors and maintaining configuration diagrams

Requirements For Technical Support Engineer

Linux
  • BS degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience and 8+ years of experience in a senior client-facing role
  • In-depth knowledge of networking technologies and protocols, specifically storage area networking (SAN)
  • Understanding of SNMP monitoring and management
  • SAN domain experience required
  • Knowledge of configuring, managing and supporting SAN Fabrics, FOS upgrades/downgrades
  • Experience with Linux and/or Windows server implementations
  • Excellent customer communication skills
  • MS Office / Google Suite expertise
