Broadcom, a global technology leader in semiconductor and infrastructure software solutions, is seeking a vCenter Database Technical Lead to join their team. This senior-level position requires a highly skilled software engineer and database expert who will play a crucial role in supporting and improving their product's database systems. The role focuses on the VMware virtualization platform, specifically vCenter database and data persistence.
The ideal candidate will bring 12+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree (or 10+ years with a Master's degree), including strong expertise in PostgreSQL, C++, and Kubernetes. You'll be responsible for ensuring the database infrastructure remains robust, efficient, and scalable while providing technical leadership and mentorship to the team.
As a technical lead, you'll drive database design and implementation, guide multiple teams, and contribute to software development across the full stack. Responsibilities For vCenter Database Technical Lead
- Drive the Broadcom VMware virtualization platform forward with focus on vCenter database and data persistence
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to multiple teams
- Act as technical lead for features in the data persistence area
- Contribute to software design, development, testing, and documentation
- Address customer or internally reported issues in the area of responsibility
- Collaborate in a large, geographically distributed environment
- Generate DB tools
Requirements For vCenter Database Technical Lead
- Bachelor's Degree and 12+ years of related experience OR Master's Degree and 10+ years of related experience
- Minimum 5 years C++ experience
- Experience in one or more scripting languages
- Expertise in deploying and managing containerized applications with Kubernetes
- Strong knowledge of database design, indexing, and high-performance data concepts
- Proficiency in SQL and database scripting languages
- Must have legal authorization to work in the US
