Description For Principal Engineer

Calendly is seeking a Principal Engineer to join their Engineering team, specifically in the Scheduling & Availability organization. This role involves leading features and architecture design to maintain user confidence in Calendly. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical competency, problem-solving skills, and foster ownership and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Architectural Design: Shaping technical strategy and North Star Architecture
  • Technical Leadership: Providing mentorship and guidance to engineering teams
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working with product, design, and other stakeholders
  • Planning & Execution: Contributing to critical "Big Rock" initiatives
  • Vision & Strategy: Developing core technical functions and capabilities

The role requires expertise in high-traffic, high-availability platforms, experience in driving technical direction, and strong problem-solving skills. The engineer will work with technologies such as Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Argo Workflows, Rails, NodeJS, React, PostgreSQL, and Redis.

Calendly offers a competitive salary based on location tiers, with ranges from $212,500 to $345,000 USD, along with benefits including a Quarterly Corporate Bonus program, equity awards, and other perks.
