Description For Senior Backend Software Engineer

Calm, the leading mental health and wellness application, is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join their engineering team. In this role, you'll be a crucial member of the Calm Health's HIPAA-compliant platform, working in fast-moving, small pods to design and develop scalable backend systems. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and maintain the infrastructure that powers their mobile and web applications, ensuring reliability, performance, and security.

The ideal candidate brings 8 years of experience and strong expertise in GoLang, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure (GCP). You'll be responsible for designing RESTful APIs, implementing robust security measures, and maintaining high-quality code standards. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on global mental health while working with cutting-edge technologies.

Calm offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $154,500 to $259,700, plus equity, comprehensive benefits, and flexible time off. Responsibilities For Senior Backend Software Engineer

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop technical specifications
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend systems
  • Lead development of complex backend features and RESTful APIs
  • Write high-quality, well-documented code
  • Ensure high test coverage including unit and integration tests
  • Implement backend features with instrumentation and monitoring
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines
