Description For Cloud Support Associate Engineer

Canonical is seeking a Cloud Support Associate Engineer to build a career supporting the technical needs of customers leveraging Ubuntu and open source products. This role offers an opportunity for a hands-on engineer with eagerness to learn and a passion for Linux and cloud technologies to work with some of the best people in the industry.

The role involves:

  • Providing remote technical support for employees
  • Taking ownership of new cases via telephone, email, and web
  • Acting as an internal customer advocate
  • Handling support cases according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Contributing to and maintaining knowledge base articles
  • Drafting technical notices for internal and external communication
  • Prioritizing work to accomplish important and urgent tasks
  • Continuous learning as products and services evolve
  • Understanding Ubuntu development process
  • Maintaining regular communication with the team
  • Identifying opportunities to improve service
  • Participating in regular weekend working rotation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, MIS, Electrical Engineering, etc.)
  • Experience with Linux troubleshooting and server administration
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud computing concepts
  • Knowledge or basic hands-on experience in virtualization/cloud, containers, storage technologies, or networking
  • Programming fundamentals in any language
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and handle pressure
  • Willingness to travel for team sprints twice yearly
