The role combines technical expertise with strategic thinking, requiring a balance between implementing robust security measures and maintaining operational efficiency. As the first Security Engineer, you'll have significant impact on developing security controls, managing IT security operations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate brings deep security expertise, excellent communication skills, and experience in fast-paced startup environments. You'll work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to implement security best practices while supporting the company's growth. Experience with compliance frameworks (SOC2, GDPR, FCA) is essential, and fintech experience is valued.

Responsibilities For Senior Security Engineer
- Develop and deploy security controls across infrastructure, applications, and data
- Champion and implement 'shift-left' security practices within development lifecycle
- Manage IT security operations, including device security and access management
- Document security standards and guidelines
- Oversee data security compliance and privacy requirements
- Perform regular security assessments
- Develop incident response plans and manage security incidents
- Manage security training and raise security awareness
- Stay ahead of emerging security threats and technologies
Requirements For Senior Security Engineer
- Deep understanding of security principles, technologies, risk assessment, and best practices
- Fantastic people skills with excellent written and verbal communication
- Experience in a fast-paced VC-backed tech startup or scale-up environment
- Understanding of best practices managing IT Security in a distributed environment
- Worked within a compliance framework such as SOC2, GDPR or an FCA license
- English language proficiency
