Description For IT Support Engineer

Capital on Tap is a fintech company dedicated to empowering small business owners through their all-in-one business credit card and spend management platform. Currently serving over 200,000 businesses globally, they aim to support 1 million small businesses by 2030.

The IT Support Engineer role is based in their Brighton office, working within the IT Services team. You'll be responsible for providing first-class end-user support across all IT needs, including system implementation, administration, and support for internal domain services. This encompasses networks, wifi communications, AV setup, and software/hardware administration.

Key responsibilities include responding to user support requests through multiple channels (in-person, Jira, Slack, video calls), troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing user accounts, maintaining the asset register, and participating in an on-call rotation for out-of-hours support.

The ideal candidate should have commercial experience in desktop/IT support, strong knowledge of operating systems and software applications, and excellent problem-solving abilities. Responsibilities For IT Support Engineer

  • Respond to user support requests via multiple channels (in-person, Jira, Slack, video)
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Install and maintain hardware and computer peripherals
  • Install and upgrade operating systems and software
  • Manage ticket SLAs
  • Set up office equipment and assist with relocations
  • Manage user accounts across multiple platforms
  • Maintain asset register
  • Generate process documentation
  • Participate in on-call rotation for out-of-hours support

Requirements For IT Support Engineer

  • Prior commercial experience as desktop/IT support engineer
  • Knowledge of Windows 10/11, Azure AD, Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Office 365
  • Advanced knowledge of computer hardware systems
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
