Description For DevOps Engineer
Captivation Software is seeking a highly motivated and experienced DevOps Engineer to join their fast-paced development team. The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge in Linux systems administration, and a background in Big Data solutions, configuration management, automation, scripting, and AWS. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for implementing infrastructure, automating deployment processes, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting development and deployment of infrastructure in AWS
- Automating deployment processes and ensuring reliability and scalability of services
- Managing and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS
- Collaborating with development teams to integrate applications into the infrastructure
- Monitoring and troubleshooting production systems
- Continuously improving processes and tools for high availability and performance
Requirements:
- Current Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development (Java preferred) with a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combinations of education and experience
- Strong knowledge of Linux, configuration management tools, and AWS services
- Proficiency in programming languages such as bash, Python, or Go
- Familiarity with Git and deployment pipelines
- DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification (e.g., Security+ certification)
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment (1-2 days per week in office)
Preferred qualifications include experience with big data technologies and containers/Kubernetes. The position offers competitive benefits, including a salary range of $130,000 - $270,000, up to 20% 401k contribution, and comprehensive insurance coverage.

Responsibilities For DevOps Engineer
- Support development and deployment of infrastructure in AWS
- Automate deployment processes and ensure reliability and scalability of services
- Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate their applications into the infrastructure
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems and resolve issues as necessary
- Continuously improve processes and tools to ensure high availability and performance
- Stay current with new technologies and industry trends
Requirements For DevOps Engineer

- Familiarity with Git and other development tools such as deployment pipelines
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies
- DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification (e.g., Security+ certification)
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment (1-2 days per week in office)
