Description For Infrastructure Monitoring Engineer

Careem, the leading Everything App in the Middle East, is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Monitoring Engineer to join their dynamic team. Since 2012, Careem has revolutionized services across 70+ cities in 10 countries, creating opportunities for over 2.5 million Captains and serving 70+ million customers.

The role focuses on building and maintaining the company's infrastructure and application monitoring systems. As a key member of the infra monitoring team, you'll be responsible for developing sophisticated monitoring frameworks that provide crucial system visibility and incident alerting capabilities across all Careem projects.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience with modern monitoring systems and possesses strong expertise in DevOps practices, including Kubernetes, AWS, and infrastructure automation. You'll work with technologies like Prometheus, NewRelic, and AppDynamic, while coding in languages such as Java, Python, and Go.

Responsibilities For Infrastructure Monitoring Engineer

  • Develop distributed monitoring system meeting scalability and reliability requirements
  • Design/Architect scalable, testable, and maintainable solutions
  • Coach and mentor team members
  • Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and designers
  • Build and ship new features with focus on code quality
  • Develop and maintain various systems including open-source and in-house applications

Requirements For Infrastructure Monitoring Engineer

  • 5+ years experience with monitoring systems (Prometheus, NewRelic, AppDynamic)
  • Experience in OOP languages (Java, Python, Go)
  • Expert knowledge of Kubernetes

  • Experience in building highly available systems at scale
  • Experience in building tools for engineering teams
  • Strong Unix/Linux background
  • Experience with system dashboards and metrics
