Software Engineer (SDE III)

Carwow is seeking a Software Engineer (SDE III) to join their technology-driven team. As part of a cross-functional product team, you'll work on building and improving the platform that defines the future of car buying. The role involves working with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and various modern technologies hosted on Heroku. You'll be responsible for feature development, code reviews, mentoring engineers, and ensuring operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

• Solving real-world problems in a fast-paced environment
• Releasing code into production multiple times daily
• Collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, and Data Analysts
• Breaking down and building features with the team
• Continuously improving and sharing knowledge across the engineering organization

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3+ years of software development experience
• Experience with Ruby on Rails
• Self-driven attitude and ability to take responsibility for product outcomes
• Skills in TDD, Kafka, Git, JS, Heroku, and HotWire (some experience)
• Experience working in distributed teams and cross-functional environments
• Strong code maintenance practices with good documentation, tests, and structure
