With offices spanning New York, London, Monaco, Singapore, and Dubai, Caxton Associates specializes in managing client and proprietary capital through discretionary global macro investing across diverse asset classes and markets.

The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining the firm's primary Risk database and workflows. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring robust database structures, maintaining referential integrity, and optimizing performance. A key aspect of the position involves creating Tableau reports and dashboards to transform complex data into clear visualizations that support the Risk team's decision-making processes.

The ideal candidate should bring at least 5 years of extensive experience with SQL Server databases, strong Python scripting capabilities, and proven expertise in database optimization and ETL processes. Responsibilities For Database and Analytics Developer

  • Work closely with Risk team to develop and refine reporting and analytics requirements
  • Design and implement efficient database schemas, tables, indexes, and stored procedures
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions
  • Identify and resolve data integrity issues
  • Manage reporting and analytics platforms
  • Monitor and optimize database performance
  • Build and maintain database-driven reports and dashboards using Tableau
  • Design, maintain, enhance ETL processes
  • Ensure regular database maintenance and backups
  • Implement database security best practices
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation
  • Industrialise and maintain risk system feeds and workflows
  • Take ownership of raw data reporting requirements to external stakeholders

Requirements For Database and Analytics Developer

Python
  • At least 5 years working extensively with SQL Server databases
  • Experience using Python for scripting database tasks
  • Proven experience designing normalised and optimised relational database schemas
  • Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies
  • Experience building and optimizing ETL processes using SSIS or custom scripts
  • Familiarity with Tableau or similar tools for reporting and data visualisation
  • Experience in database maintenance tasks, backups, and security management
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders
  • Displays and operates at the highest degree of ethics and integrity
