Description For Desktop Support Engineer

Caxton Associates, a prestigious global trading and investment firm established in 1983, is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer for their Singapore office. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a leading financial institution with offices across London, New York, Monaco, Singapore, and Dubai.

The position requires a hands-on, proactive professional to manage IT support and operations for approximately 15 users in the Singapore office. Working directly under the IT Support & Helpdesk Manager based in London, this role demands independence and problem-solving abilities. The working hours are 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotational after-hours support shared among the team.

This role presents excellent learning opportunities in modern technologies including Office 365 Administration, Exchange Online, MS Teams Administration, Endpoint Management (InTune), Azure, and Active Directory Identity Administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining critical trading floor systems, supporting proprietary applications, and ensuring smooth IT operations.

The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the banking/financial services industry. They must demonstrate strong technical capabilities across various platforms including Windows, Active Directory, and trading applications like Bloomberg and X_Trader. The role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities For Desktop Support Engineer

  • Provide desktop support to end users including installation, repair, servicing and maintenance of hardware
  • Provide in office and remote support to Singapore users
  • Setup video and audio conference calls
  • Support, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware and software updates on the trade floor
  • Perform PC workstation moves and changes
  • Maintain ticket queue using Asana
  • Respond to malware virus alerts and manage risk mitigation
  • Participate in after-hours on-call support rotation
  • Create package for automated deployment
  • Create, deploy and troubleshoot Windows 10 images via MDT/WDS
  • Analyze and revamp current group policies

Requirements For Desktop Support Engineer

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in banking/financial services industry
  • Experience with Bloomberg and X_Trader
  • Proficiency in Microsoft O365, Windows 10/11, Adobe Acrobat, Google Chrome
  • Knowledge of Active Directory
  • Experience with Mobile telephony support and Microsoft Intune MDM
  • Strong customer support and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in high-pressure environments
  • Willing to work off-hours and weekends as needed
  • PowerShell experience is a plus
  • Strong collaborative skills and attention to detail
