The CDC Foundation is seeking a Data Engineer to play a crucial role in advancing their mission by designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure for public health organizations. This position is part of the Workforce Acceleration Initiative (WAI), a federally funded program aimed at helping the nation's public health agencies improve their information systems.
Working within the Snohomish County Health Department, the Data Engineer will be responsible for creating and managing data systems and pipelines, collecting and transforming data from various sources, optimizing data infrastructure, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, at least 5 years of professional experience, and strong skills in SQL, database systems, and data engineering best practices. Experience with Python, agile methodologies, and electronic health record systems is preferred.
This is a remote position based in the United States, offering a competitive salary range of $103,500-$143,500 per year, plus benefits. The position is grant-funded with an end date of June 30, 2025. The Data Engineer must be available between 9 am and 4 pm Pacific Time, Monday through Friday, to collaborate with Snohomish County staff.
