Description For 5G BTS Field Engineer

CED Systems is a telecommunications startup at the forefront of 5G network infrastructure deployment. We're seeking a 5G BTS Field Engineer to join our growing team, focusing on the installation and integration of new technologies across our network infrastructure. This role combines hands-on technical work with strategic network deployment, offering an exciting opportunity in the rapidly evolving 5G space.

As a Field Engineer, you'll be responsible for installing, configuring, and integrating Nokia's 5G and LTE equipment at cell sites. This includes working with cutting-edge technology while coordinating with integration engineers and construction crews to ensure successful project completion. The position requires technical expertise in telecommunications, particularly with Nokia equipment and BTS manager systems.

The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of telecommunications site experience, with specific knowledge of Nokia LTE & 5G equipment. You'll need to be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions, capable of handling physical demands like lifting 50 lbs and climbing ladders, and willing to work flexible hours including maintenance windows.

Responsibilities For 5G BTS Field Engineer

  • Installing, configuring and integrating new 5G and LTE equipment from Nokia on cell sites
  • Coordinate tasks with integration engineers
  • Commissioning & Integration of UMTS, GSM, LTE and NR radio technologies
  • Installations of routers, Circuit Breakers, GPS Kit, LAN Connections, CPRI Fibers
  • Mounting/unmounting of cabinet, racks and hardware
  • Work with construction crew on site to complete job scope

Requirements For 5G BTS Field Engineer

  • Associates Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering or related field preferred
  • NOKIA Certifications (L0, L1, GC Academy preferred)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb a 12 ft ladder
  • Computer and MS Office Proficient
  • Basic Hand Tools
  • Ability to work within Maintenance Window hours (midnight to 6am)
  • Ability to travel within a region
  • Must have experience with Nokia BTS manager
  • Experience with Nokia LTE & 5G equipment
