Description For Customer Success Engineer

Censys is a cybersecurity company revolutionizing internet visibility and intelligence for security teams worldwide. Our platform helps identify threats and enables proactive defense strategies through actionable insights. We're seeking a Customer Success Engineer to join our team in Washington DC or Ann Arbor, MI.

As a Customer Success Engineer reporting to the Manager of Customer Success and Support, you'll be instrumental in delivering white-glove service to our most valuable customers. This role combines technical expertise with customer service excellence, requiring you to be both a product expert and problem solver. You'll work with the latest security technologies, including our Attack Surface Management Platform and Search products, while guiding customers through training, implementation, and adoption phases.

The ideal candidate brings 2+ years of technical customer-facing experience, with knowledge of security tooling, cloud providers, and network protocols. You'll need proficiency in Python and REST APIs, plus excellent communication skills. We offer competitive compensation ($110,000-$130,000), comprehensive benefits including 401k match, health insurance, and equity.

Responsibilities For Customer Success Engineer

  • Partner with Customer Experience organization to provide world class customer experience
  • Provide technical advice and best practices for Censys Attack Surface Management Platform and Search products
  • Guide operational workflows to reduce time to value for customers
  • Help customers deploy, test, troubleshoot integrations (Cloud Connectors, Splunk, Jira, ServiceNow)
  • Serve as customer advocate in influencing product roadmap
  • Become Subject Matter Expert for parts of the platform

Requirements For Customer Success Engineer

  • 2+ years of experience in technical, customer facing role
  • Basic knowledge of security tooling, cloud providers, and information security industry
  • Knowledge of network protocols (HTTPS, SSH, SMTP, FTP, SMB, RDP) and SSL/TLS
  • Experience with REST APIs and Python
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills
  • Self-starter ability with multi-tasking capabilities
  • Resourceful attitude and problem-solving mindset
