Description For Release Train Engineer

The Release Train Engineer (RTE) at CEQUENS is responsible for leading and coordinating Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to deliver successful programs and projects. This role involves guiding the ART and its associated teams through Agile processes, removing impediments, and facilitating continuous improvement. The RTE collaborates closely with Product Managers, Solution Architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of business and technical priorities.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Facilitating and coordinating the Agile Release Train (ART)
  2. Fostering continuous improvement and Agile practices
  3. Engaging stakeholders and managing communication
  4. Managing risks and resolving issues
  5. Tracking performance and reporting
  6. Aligning programs with strategic planning

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within a technology or communications organization. Certification in Agile (SAFe RTE, SPC, or similar) is strongly preferred.

Required skills include in-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies, experience leading cross-functional teams, proficiency in Agile tools, strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, excellent communication and facilitation skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities For Release Train Engineer

  • Oversee the ART planning process
  • Facilitate PI planning events, ART sync meetings, and System Demos
  • Ensure alignment of team and ART goals with business objectives
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Conduct retrospective meetings
  • Coach and mentor Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other ART members
  • Act as the main point of contact between the ART and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Solution Architects, and other stakeholders
  • Identify and resolve risks, issues, and impediments
  • Maintain a risk register
  • Develop and monitor ART performance metrics
  • Provide regular reports on ART progress
  • Support teams in establishing realistic timelines and milestones
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure ART objectives align with strategic goals
  • Participate in portfolio-level discussions
  • Assist in roadmap planning and resource allocation

Requirements For Release Train Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within a technology or communications organization
  • Certification in Agile (SAFe RTE, SPC, or similar) is strongly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies, particularly SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban
  • Experience in leading and coordinating multiple cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to guide decision-making and assess team performance
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a focus on continuous improvement
