Description For Principal Power Electronics Engineer I

CesiumAstro is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge communication systems for satellites, UAVs, and space platforms. As a Principal Power Electronics Engineer I, you'll play a crucial role in designing and developing power electronics systems for spacecraft and aerospace applications. The position focuses on two main areas: optimized point-of-load converters (1W to 50W) and standalone dc-dc converter modules (20W to 500W).

You'll be responsible for the complete product lifecycle, from concept through production, including creating roadmaps, designing schematics, PCB layout, analysis, and working with manufacturers. The role requires expertise in power electronics, circuit analysis, and hands-on experience with lab instruments. As a principal engineer, you'll also mentor others and present to customers and executives.

The ideal candidate brings 9+ years of experience in power electronics design, with a strong educational background in Electrical Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic startup environment while contributing to advanced space technology. The position offers comprehensive benefits including equity, health insurance, and retirement plans.

Due to U.S. Government Space Technology Export Regulations, candidates must be U.S. citizens or have appropriate authorization. Join CesiumAstro to be part of a team pushing the boundaries of space communication technology.
