Description For Sr. Tableau Developer

CGS is seeking a Tableau Developer to join their team supporting a wide-ranging technical support initiative for a large Federal agency. As a Sr. Tableau Developer, you will provide data visualization capacity for the office of research by creating interactive reports, visualizations, and dashboards to support priority agency needs. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to generate and evaluate user requirements, develop interactive visualizations using Tableau, and provide expert technical assistance to staff as needed on visualization development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to design and build visualizations
  • Generating and evaluating user requirements, identifying data sources, and building data extracts
  • Creating reports and data analytics solutions
  • Developing test plans and testing visualizations for efficiency
  • Providing technical assistance on Tableau usage
  • Adhering to agency data visualization policy

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in building, customizing, and publishing Tableau interactive reports, visualizations, and dashboards
  • Intermediate knowledge of SQL and database structures
  • 5+ years of experience in communicating complex analytical topics to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proficiency in managing complex data from multiple sources

  • Proficiency with managing complex data from multiple data sources and demonstrated ability to understand new datasets and data structures
