Sr. Virtualization and Cloud Engineer

CGS (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Sr. Virtualization and Cloud Engineer to join their team in solving dynamic government problems with cutting-edge technology. This role requires extensive experience in VMware technologies, cloud infrastructure, and system engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in virtualization, cloud technologies, and enterprise-level IT infrastructure.

As a Sr. Virtualization and Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, and managing enterprise-level VMware vSphere environments. You'll work on improving backup/disaster recovery solutions, maintaining Windows 10 images for VDI, and assessing infrastructure improvements. The role involves following SDLC processes, performing hardware and software configurations, and working independently to determine technical objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Setting up and deploying virtualization systems and scripting technologies
• Maintaining and optimizing VMware environments
• Capturing requirements and documenting system designs
• Implementing and managing various VMware products (Horizon View, App Volumes, vSphere)
• Creating custom reports and architectural design documents

Requirements for this position include:

• 4+ years of experience with VMware products
• Extensive knowledge of VMware Horizon View 7.x and related technologies
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure (e.g., Azure) and Hyper Converged Infrastructure
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and Windows 10
• Knowledge of networking concepts and Active Directory
• Experience with SDLC processes and ITIL principles
