Description For Virtualization and Cloud Engineer

CGS Federal is seeking a Principal-level Virtualization and Cloud Engineer to join their team in designing and managing enterprise VMware environments. This role requires extensive experience with VMware products and cloud technologies, focusing on supporting the Executive Office for the U.S. Attorneys (EOUSA) and U.S. Attorneys' Offices (USAOs).

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience with VMware products, strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, and expertise in virtualization technologies. You'll be responsible for setting up high-availability systems, managing disaster recovery, and implementing virtual desktop infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities For Virtualization and Cloud Engineer

  • Design, configure, and manage enterprise VMware vSphere environment
  • Setup and configure virtualization systems for high availability
  • Improve backup/Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations
  • Build & maintain Windows 10 images for VDI
  • Assess and anticipate infrastructure improvements
  • Follow SDLC processes and procedures
  • Create architectural design documents and presentations
  • Test and apply hardware and software updates

Requirements For Virtualization and Cloud Engineer

Linux
  • Experience with VMware products (vSphere 6.5-6.7, Horizon View, App Volumes, UEM)
  • 4+ years experience with VMware products
  • Understanding of Active Directory, TCP/IP, DHCP/DNS
  • Experience with cloud technologies and Azure
  • Knowledge of Hyper Converged Infrastructure
  • PowerShell scripting skills
  • Understanding of ITIL principles
  • Federal Agency issued security clearance
