The role focuses on improving production equipment and processes using cutting-edge automation control technology. You'll work with Safety PLCs, Ethernet networks, VFDs, HMIs, Fanuc Robotics, and Vision systems. Responsibilities For Controls Engineer - Automotive Manufacturing & Engineering

  • Provide daily support of production operations focusing on safety, process quality and uptime
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting equipment/process failures
  • Execute Kaizen projects for safety, quality, cost and reliability improvements
  • Review equipment operation and reliability
  • Execute special projects for process improvements and equipment refurbishment
  • Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of equipment
  • Maintain current knowledge and update management on emerging trends
  • Provide technical training and knowledge transfer
  • Attend departmental meetings for technical insight and planning

Requirements For Controls Engineer - Automotive Manufacturing & Engineering

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant technical field
  • Over 3 years of experience in automation controls
  • Experience with Fanuc robotics, Controllogix PLCs and vehicle Body application controls
  • Intermediate or advanced Control Logix PLC programming
  • Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives and HMIs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Maximo, Rockwell
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing (preferred)
  • Experience in General Motors manufacturing facilities (preferred)
