Description For ASIC Engineer II (Intern)

Cisco's Core ASIC Group is seeking dedicated and driven engineers for their next-generation designs. As an ASIC Engineer II (Intern), you will participate in the design, development, and verification of high-performance communications processors and ASICs for a wide range of Cisco's products. You'll work with top industry talent and contribute to system architecture, network processor (NPU) architecture, Ethernet processing, digital signal processing, modeling, high-speed logic design & verification, custom processor development, dense and efficient memory designs, custom library development, physical design & DFT, Signal Integrity, and complex packaging technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in marketing, system hardware, software, product engineering, and manufacturing
  • Contribute to defining, developing, and bringing new products to market
  • Work on cutting-edge technologies in cloud, social, mobile/wireless, video, VoIP, big data, collaboration, Internet of Things, routing, switching, and more
  • Participate in various stages of the ASIC design flow, including RTL design, simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, and verification

Required Qualifications:

  • Recently completed or actively enrolled in a Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and technical problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with ASIC design flow and hardware description languages (VHDL or Verilog)
  • Knowledge of EDA tools used in the ASIC design process
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work toward long-term goals
  • Experience in establishing and sustaining strong relationships with an extended team
