Description For C++ Software Engineer (Infrastructure Team)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Software Engineer to join the field of Network Technology within our R&D department which contributes to the evolution of the next generation of leading networking products. We are building firmware, SDK, simulators, and compilers for Cisco Silicon One™ architecture and work in the development of pioneering technology.

The team is working on the new generation of silicon which will be part of all families of Cisco devices that will drive the future of the internet. This is an opportunity to work with worldwide distributed Cisco R&D centers and learn from the best engineers in the field.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, develop, maintain, and perform support for the infrastructural part of Linux/C++ SDK
  • Refactor, maintain, and optimize the advanced Makefile-based build mechanism
  • Work on refactoring and redesigning the C++ code to achieve faster build and smaller binary size
  • Develop and maintain various custom tools needed for SDK development and analysis
  • Work on the optimization of the test execution
  • Collaborate with other SDK development teams

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience with C/C++ software development on Linux
  • Proper understanding of the build process, Linux tools (esp. Makefile), system architecture
  • Experience with at least one script language
  • Completed academic education in computer technology (BSc/MSc) or related field with relevant experience
  • Good problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills
  • High level of work autonomy and sense of responsibility
  • Fluency in spoken and written English

Bonus Skills:

  • Knowledge of Python
  • Experience with SWIG
  • Experience with Jenkins, Docker, test automation
  • Familiarity with unit testing
  • Knowledge of Yocto
