Description For Embedded Software Technical Leader

Accedian, now part of Cisco, is a leader in performance analytics and end user experience solutions for service providers and mid-to-large size enterprises. As an Embedded Software Technical Leader, you'll be part of the embedded software group within the larger embedded R&D organization. Your role involves leading feature development, influencing architectural decisions, creating software specifications, developing code across the entire software stack, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You'll work on high-performance, scalable, and secure network switching and performance monitoring solutions, guiding team members through all phases of product development. The ideal candidate should have experience in embedded software development, network protocols, security practices, and agile methodologies. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies that impact billions of global users, demanding adaptability, leadership, and expertise across the entire software stack.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead feature development from technical design through completion
  • Influence architectural decisions focusing on security, scalability, and reliability
  • Create software requirements specifications, architecture, and design documents
  • Develop, review, integrate, test, and debug code across the entire software stack
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams on project scope and product maintenance
  • Contribute to improving software development processes

Requirements:

  • Experience leading projects and software developers
  • Expertise in embedded software development using C, multi-threaded programming, and ARM CPU architectures
  • Knowledge of network protocols, switching, and routing technologies
  • Experience with network management systems and technologies
  • Strong background in secure software development practices
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with object-oriented design and C++ programming
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (bash, python)
  • Knowledge of virtualization, containers, and orchestration software
  • Linux kernel development experience
  • Familiarity with FIPS certification and FedRAMP compliance
